Aerodynamic Design Optimization and Analysis of Ducted Fan Blades in DEP UAVs

In order to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, concept of distributed electric propulsion (DEP) has been introduced. At present, there are a few studies small engines DEP vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAVs. According design requirements VTOL UAV ducted fans, aerodynamic fan is carried out in this paper. Firstly, initial model established by referring theoretical derivations. Then, Bezier curves used control mid-arc thickness distributions blade profiles at different heights realize parameterization as variables. Finally, objective function that can represent performance rotor selected, multi-objective genetic algorithm optimize performance. The optimal results obtained, characteristics analyzed. Compared with model, total pressure ratio isentropic efficiency optimized increased 5.3% 7.8%, respectively, reaching 1.20 90.37%. Meanwhile, improved, indicating significantly enhanced task completed.
